RU OK Day Assembly
The SRC Team led yesterday’s Years 7 to 10 assembly to raise awareness about “RU OK Day”.
Year 8 and 10 SRC students addressed the following questions:
- What are the signs that could mean a friend isn’t ok?
- How do you know when to ask “are you ok?”
- Where can you seek help when a classmate needs it?
- How do we create a relevant conversations?
- How do you self-care?
The SRC presenters also spoke about stigmas around the topic of reach out and support others, particularly from male perspectives.
Well done to the Year 8 Presenters – Estelle Stark, Filipija Stajanova, Melissa Dodd and Susannah Duff. We would also like to thank the Year 10 Presenters – Alyssa Bishara, India Falconer, Jay Louison-Roe and Thomas Duff.
The SRC Team also presented at the senior meetings. Thank you to Ben Nolan, Mitchell Fahy, Ben Weaver and Cooper Gannon for their wonderful presentations at the Year 11 and 12 meetings.
RU OK Day is on Thursday 12 September. The SRC Team will be running activities during Recess and Lunch on the day. We invite all students to reflect on the importance of this initiative and join the activities.
A small genuine conversation could make a big difference in someone’s life.
