MATESHIP at KPS – generational change in respectful relationships

Over the past 5 weeks, our White Ribbon student ambassadors have led the ‘MATESHIP’ (Moulding Attitudes Through Educating Students – High Inspiring Primary) peer mentoring program with Year 3 and 4 students at Kirrawee Primary School.

Embracing the opportunity to build positive relationships with students from one of our feeder schools and, in terms of the bigger picture, seeking to empower the next generation to prioritize respectful relationships.

Over the 5 weeks, activities led by our student ambassadors covered many topics related to the White Ribbon cause, including:
– positive relationships
– bullying
– self-esteem
– values and attitudes
– what is real mateship

A big thank you is extended to Mrs Sharyn Davis as our MATESHIP program coordinator, who has led a working partnership with Kirrawee Primary School for the last 3 years.

We are proud of our KHS student ambassadors and the positive role models they have been to Kirrawee Primary School students. They have represented themselves, their families and their school with distinction and, from all accounts, thoroughly enjoyed the experience too.
