Year 12 2021 Geography fieldwork Transect of Sydney

Year 12 went out on fieldwork this week to transect the city of Sydney.

With Ms Thomson at the bus wheel and Ms Banks (prac teacher extraordinaire) taking the students through the South West and North West Growth corridors of our city including Oran Park, Gregory Hills, the new Western Sydney International Airport, Marsden Park and Parramatta.

This was followed by Mosman and Erskineville to see the changes and spatial exclusion that exists within this city.

All students were able to observe the changes that are happening throughout the Sydney Basin and see how diverse this city has become.

This excursion has laid the foundational information for year 12’s first assessment task, and by seeing the changes in action around Sydney, students have been given first hand knowledge of what the future urban planning of Sydney entails.
