Year 10 French Languages Study Day at UOW

Our Year 10 French class participated in the languages study day at the University Of Wollongong on Tuesday 18 February 2020. Our students proudly represented KHS in the most outstanding way, particularly during the group performances. Our Year 10 students produced creative and well thought out scripts in French, which they performed in front of staff and students. UOW hosted eleven high schools for this event, and this was a great opportunity for languages students to meet and communicate in French when participating in the activities.

We would like to thank UOW for organising this valuable day. The day consisted of fun and interactive activities, in addition to presentations by UOW students studying various Bachelor degrees. The UOW students spoke about the importance of learning a second language, and how this opens the door to numerous unique opportunities. Other presenters were Ms Anu Bissoonauth-Bedford UOW Senior Lecturer, and Ms Evia Kyriacou DoE Representatives, who shared their passion and expertise about language learning.

We are always proud of our KHS students who lead by example. With this in mind, I would like to give a special mention to one of our students who went above and beyond during the excursion. Evan Briggs found a wallet and ensured it was returned to the owner. Evan was later awarded with a special certificate that noted his act of honesty and integrity.
