Staff Focus On Student Welfare

Staff have been focused on Student Welfare during Weeks 3 and 4 this term.

During Week 3, Staff discussed how to support the mental health of our students and were educated on various ways to support our students. As a staff we’re committed to helping our students deal with the challenges that confront them in life.

Mr Mitchell delivered an inspiring presentation on the signature strengths at Kirrawee High School and the aspirations for our children to became well rounded citizens.

This correlated with our Professional Learning Sessions on student welfare and how we can support and promote resilience within our school. Ms Owens our School Phycologist and Mrs Kenehan our Head Teacher Welfare went through the practises at Kirrawee High School to support emotional development across all facets of the school.

Further, In Week 4, we were educated about emotional trauma and how to support everyone within the school.

As a staff we’re committed to best supporting our students and understanding how to support the emotional development of all. The learning reinforced the important link that exists with emotional health and how to help everyone within our community achieve their personal best.

As always if you have any questions please feel free to contact the school.
