All Together to Network

The Year 12 Mathematics Standard classes joined together on Thursday 4 March and experienced a taste of university life.

All classes began the new topic of “Networks” in the hall with a presentation to the students to develop their understanding of the course content.

Networks is a new concept/topic that was introduced to the Mathematics Standard Course in 2019.

In short, networks are a collection of connected objects. The connection of nodes (vertices) in many possible ways is drawn with edges (links)

Over the course of the topic, students will develop their understanding of how to differentiate real life problems within a network. For example, maximum water flow within a community or the shortest path between 2 nodes.

After successful delivery of the topic occurred in the same context last year, the class of 2020 are now experiencing the different learning style provided by the Mathematics staff in full context.
