Careers News

Last week in Careers, we welcomed Ms Keats. She will be in the careers office to help you on Mondays and Tuesdays for the next few weeks.

News about all sorts of opportunities is emailed to students and preferred contacts quite regularly. Please keep reading your emails, especially if you are in Years 9-12.

TAFE runs short taster programs each term for students aged 15-17. Students attend TAFE one day a week for 7 weeks in their chosen course. We have a number of students currently attending the term 1 YES program and the Term 2 program courses have just been announced. Many more students want to do these course than there are places available, so if you would like to apply, please be sure that you really want to do the course and are prepared to attend each of the seven sessions.

These will run from week beginning Monday 4 May to week ending Friday 19 June, 2020.  Please click the following link to see list of courses:  Yes Programs – Courses

If you are interested in applying, come to the careers office to get a YES Expression of Interest. You will also need a USI (Unique Student Identifier). You have previously been emailed information about how to get this. It is free, online and takes 5 minutes with some form of identification. Google ‘get USI’. The school also needs to send a copy of your latest school report. Please note that, although they may still be accepted, students with a history of violence must also meet with TAFE to arrange a risk assessment prior to an offer being made.
