Friends Program – CANCELLED
Event Date: 07/04/2020 - 07/04/2020
Due to Bates Drive School selling their school bus and not having any other way to transport their students and staff to KHS, we have been asked last week by their Principal to postpone our collaborative program till next term and upon the arrival of their new bus. For this reason, we have looked at other community service opportunities, to continue to run our Friends Program and serve our wider community. After contacting the Percy Miles nursing home at Kirrawee, we are pleased to announce the management’s warm welcome to start the new initiative of running the Friends Program with their residence. Here are the details:
Students will be supervised by Ms Botros, and will walk to the Percy Miles residency from KHS. This is a 10 minutes walk from our school.
The program will run during normal sports time each Tuesday, starting from this Tuesday 3/3/20 to the last Tuesday of this term 7/4/20. Students are required to meet Ms Botros at 1.20pm in A18 where attendance will be checked and students could leave their bags in the classroom which will be locked (students should keep their phones and valuables with them). We will return to KHS by 2.40pm.
There is no fee required.
This program will offer a variety of interactive activities, which will run for one hour. The activities will be organised by Ms Botros and led by our wonderful KHS students participating in this program. the activities will include art, craft, music, and Bingo. The aim of the Friends Program is to provide community service opportunities for our students, we look forward to start the new initiative with the Percy Miles residence.
If you have any questions, please contact Ms Botros. Otherwise, please provide permission for your child to attend by this Monday morning.
The Friends Program and this new initiative is run with the approval of our school principal. And, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our parents and carers for supporting our community service program and for their thoughtful children, whom are the very reason for running such a special program.
Ms M. Botros
